Nutrition Counseling

Nutrition counseling aims to improve your health outcomes.

Nutrition Counseling for Eating Disorders

For those with active eating disorders or for relapse prevention during recovery. We will work with you to create a plan to heal from your eating disorder and walk the path toward full recovery. In follow-up sessions, we will discuss what has been working well so far in your treatment as well as what adjustments can be made to help navigate around obstacles that you face. We will collaborate regularly with the rest of your treatment team to ensure the best possible treatment for you.

Nutrition Counseling to Improve Overall Health

For those looking to improve their overall health or manage a different condition. We will work with you to improve overall health outcomes or manage a specific condition using an intuitive eating, all-foods-can-fit approach. In follow-up sessions, we will discuss what has been working well so far as well as what adjustments can be made to help navigate around obstacles that you face. We will collaborate regularly with the rest of your providers to ensure the best possible treatment for you. Please note that we do not work with clients on a goal of weight loss as this is not aligned with our weight-neutral, intuitive eating-aligned approach.

How It Works

Step 1: Getting Started.

Schedule a free discovery call, which you can do by clicking here. You’re not committing to working with us if you complete the call — it simply allows us to answer your questions and get the process started.

Step 2: The First Session.

We’ll get started with a 60-minute intake appointment where we’ll talk about your nutrition- and health-related histories, your current eating and movement patterns, and anything else that you think is relevant to our work together. We’ll also discuss your goals for nutrition counseling. This intake appointment helps us determine that we are a good fit to work together and that we are able to provide the care that is best suited for your needs. Please note that we require a medical assessment/physical to be completed by your primary care doctor upon intake so we can learn more about your health status and determine your medical baseline.

Step 3: Follow-Up Sessions.

Our follow-up sessions will give us the chance to touch base about what has been working well and what hasn’t. We will discuss barriers to the goals we set and how to navigate around them. We’ll revisit your overall goals and set smaller, short-term goals. If applicable, we will also have a chance to review new health data, like updated lab and bloodwork results. Follow-up sessions will be 30 or 45 minutes long, depending on your preference and your dietitian’s recommendations.

Please note: Because nutrition counseling is a medical service, we are only able to offer these services to these services in select states, including New York, Connecticut, and some others. Individuals in all other states or countries may pursue nutrition coaching. Please contact us with questions about how this might pertain to your specific case.
